چکیده

In this study, effect of increasing temperature on life cycle, mortality, and behavior the mosquito species, Aedes aegypti was evaluated. Heat shock applied at 32°C, 37°C 42°C for 20 minutes, 1 hour 2 hours each to egg, 2nd instar, 3rd instar pupal stage separately changes in cycle pattern recorded a routine basis. The control 27°C which reared. When heat-shock eggs, developmental period found be inversely proportional rise. shortest embryonic larval stages were (2h). full development also No hatching 42°C. While heat larvae, larvae pupae, similar decreased observed. 100% viability observed upon (2nd instar) pupae 32°C. case 37°C, decreased. egg hatched 42°C, while few instars survived. Lowest rate counted Change movement gradually with temperatures pupae. change irregular larvae. highest 32°C 27°C, respectively lowest Bangladesh J. Zool. 49 (3): 369-379, 2021

Temperature, Larval Diet, and Density Effects on Development Rate and Survival of Aedes aegypti (Diptera: Culicidae)

Many environmental factors, biotic and abiotic interact to influence organismal development. Given the importance of Aedes aegypti as a vector of human pathogens including dengue and yellow fever, understanding the impact of environmental factors such as temperature, resource availability, and intraspecific competition during development is critical for population control purposes. Despite know...

Effects of different temperature regimens on the development of Aedes aegypti (L.) (Diptera: Culicidae) mosquitoes.

This study was conducted to determine the effects of increased water temperatures on the development of Aedes aegypti immatures under laboratory conditions in Trinidad, West Indies using temperature regulated water baths to cover a range of temperatures from 24-25°C to 34-35°C at a relative humidity of 80%. Two experiments were designed: (1) at constant temperature regimens and (2) under diurna...

Microgeographic population structuring of Aedes aegypti (Diptera: Culicidae)

Aedes aegypti is one of the species most favored by changes in the environment caused by urbanization. Its abundance increases rapidly in the face of such changes, increasing the risk of disease transmission. Previous studies have shown that mosquito species that have adapted to anthropogenic environmental changes benefit from urbanization and undergo population expansion. In light of this, we ...

Effect of phenobarbital on inducing insecticide tolerance and esterase changes in Aedes aegypti (Diptera: Culicidae)

The effect of phenobarbital (PB) on the induction of tolerance to the organophosphorous insecticide temephos (TE) was investigated in Aedes aegypti L4 larvae submitted to two different PB-treatments:(1) continuous treatment from the egg to the larval L4 stage and (2) discontinuous treatment in which L4 larvae were exposed for 30 h. Mosquitoes from two Brazilian cities were studied: São José do ...
